1: What is LCCI?
LCCI Examinations Board was established more than 100 years ago. The Certificates and Diplomas of LCCI provide internationally recognized standards of attainment which are regarded by professional bodies, employers and governments as a mark of the highest standards. Many countries consider them as "PASSPORTS TO EMPLOYMENT".
LCCI was formed by the business community to provide awards created by business people for business people and therefore demonstrate a fundamental understanding of the requirements of employers. No other international award body is so uniquely placed to provide this service to employers. Even the LCCI English examinations are designed to test competence in a work environment. Employers can be confident when recruiting staff that candidates with awards from LCCI possess the skills necessary to enable them to perform effectively in their job.
Because LCCI was formed by the business community and because it has always maintained direct contact with business - to this day employers input to the syllabuses for its qualifications. The examinations are conducted in more than 125 countries around the world and LCCI currently awards vocational qualifications in 8 broad areas (offering over 80 different examinations).

2: How many levels of qualifications are there?
Anyone who wishes to acquire/improve their skills in the subjects to be examined should sit for the examinations. As it is a passport to employment and is recognized by many institutions of higher learning, it would be of particular interest to the following groups:
- graduates of various disciplines who may wish to have a
recognized English qualification to enhance their chances of obtaining employment
with foreign/local enterprises;
- undergraduates who may wish to have an added qualification
to supplement their graduate degree when seeking jobs;
- high schools students/graduates and matured students who
may wish to acquire new skills which can lead better job prospects; For
example, a graduate or undergraduate in accounting or business studies may
wish to sit for the accounting, marketing papers. As the syllabuses are
based on internationally recognized accounting/auditing standards, it may
improve their chances of -seeking employment with foreign enterprises. They
may also progress to sit for other internationally recognized professional
examinations upon obtaining the LCCI awards.

4: How does one prepare for the examinations?
More training centers will be established over
the coming years. However, our Registered Training Centers will provide information
on the syllabus and subjects available in. One may contact them for discussion
and information. Training courses will be tailored to suit the training
needs of students. As the medium of examination/instructions will be in
English, it is recommended a certain level of English proficiency must
be attained before one can enroll for the LCCI classes. While it is not compulsory
to enroll for LCCI language courses, before one sits for LCCI examinations,
at our Registered Training Centers, we strongly recommend that students
take this language program if their assessment suggests the need. Both
daytime and evening classes will be available subject to the availability of
such courses. Details and course fees will be provided by the respective
centers.

Student may choose to sit for any level they wish. A student
may proceed directly to register for Level 3 without having sat for Level

9: What are the different types of awards?
English is basic to many jobs and is increasing in importance
as more foreign enterprises are established in Nepal. LCCI offers vocational
language studies -
such as English for Business or Written English for Tourism. In addition, it
is our view that English language skills should be viewed more as a 'tool'
for acquiring other knowledge or for facilitating communication with
the international business community. We strongly recommend that
all students embark on a course of English study. At the same time, we
also suggest that for students whose English are highly proficient, they
should select a skill which can be useful in their career.
These vocational skills may be in management studies, accountancy studies, secretarial
studies, information technology, marketing, advertising or anyone of the many
subjects that LCCI offers.
